Noumea, the capital of New Caledonia, is host to the 4th Melanesian Arts Festival this September. Noumea Discovery and Rainbow Tourism are offering exceptional packages before, during and after the two-week cultural festival being held at various locations around the main and outer islands.
Not only can you visit the beautiful capital and Southern and Northern Provinces, you can take day trips to the Island of Pines or any of the Loyalty Islands further out. But if you stay in Noumea, there’s plenty to see and do during the day (including free activities during the festival) and After Dark.
There’s a community association called Homo-Sphere, with monthly parties at the gay-welcoming venues. Bodega Bar and MV Lounge are both on bays overlooking the lagoon and coral reef.
