Luxurious Rooms

This villa has been a family home since 1903, a historic double bay villa, Stafford Villa is the original name of the house which derived from the original family’s hometown in Staffordshire, England. New owners in 1977 commenced renovations to restore the house to its full glory with the reconstruction taking nine years. The end result is a very fine classic double bay villa with full return veranda on two levels which include 500 turned pieces of Kauri! The Kauri staircase which connects the upper and lower floors was rediscovered after it had been boarded up for fifty years and the house features magnificent Kauri ceilings and polished floors.

The current owners, Mark and Christina, purchased the house in March 1999, when the Villa was completely renovated and restored bringing back the style of a bygone era and adding some mod cons like central heating, a state of the art security system, modern kitchen appliances, and modern bathrooms.

Now the Stafford Villa is on the Birkenhead Historic List and is grade two of the New Zealand Historic Places Trust.

Despite this historical significance the villa offers luxury accommodation in two guest suites each with a dressing area, bath and shower. The suites have been refurbished to the highest modern standard with the emphasis on style, elegance, comfort, and privacy. The suites offer LCD TV, DVD, CD VCR, personal safe, luxury towel bathrobes, silk kimonos, New Zealand natural toiletries, and a selection of large fluffy towels, handmade chocolates, fresh fruit, and flowers. Turn-down service is included in the evening with fresh towels, distilled ice water, and evening port.

To make your stay memorable, and for a perfects nights sleep, you can choose your own special pillow from the pillow menu. Time spent sleeping at Stafford Villa is as memorable as time spent awake!

A number of golf courses are ten minutes by car and the wine area of West Auckland is a twenty-five minute drive. Walking tracks to sheltered beaches, native reserves and parks with magnificent views of the Waitemata harbour are all within the vicinity of the villa.
