Rebuilt after the 1931 disastrous earthquake, Napier is the art deco capital and commercial centre and major port of the region.
Napier is surrounded by rich farming, horticultural and winemaking land. Napier is the largest city in the region and is located 20 minute drive north of Hastings.
The cities are dubbed “The Twin Bay Cities” and have a wide range of attractions ranging from the Cape Kidnappers Bird Scantuary, early maori and colony history to visiting the wine tastinga at one of the many wineries & vineyards within the region.
