The major commercial centre of the Northland region, is the city of Whangarei, surrounded by the tourism destinations of Paihia, Dargaville and Kaitaia.

Located 170 kms north of Auckland, Whangarei is New Zealand’s northern city and commercial centre for the Far North / Northland region.

Whangarei is situated between forested hills and a deep water harbour and surrounded by fertile farmland with orchards. The city features – Parahaki – New Zealand’s largest Maori Pa complex.

Dargaville is located north of Auckland, in the winterless north on the west coast of the North Island, 60 minutes drive from Waipoua Kauri Forests, 2-3 hour drive to Paihia and the beautiful Bay of Islands and 3 hour drive to the northern point of New Zealand – Cape Reinga.

Located 330 kms north of Auckland, Kaitaia is the main town of the Far North region and a popular tourist centre. From Kaitaia there is the famous 90 Mile Beach and Cape Reinga the northenmost point of New Zealand.
